Using Text Alerts for Garbage Collecting

April 15, 2014 | Back to the Blog

One of the hardest things to remember in life is not your wife’s birthday, it’s not your anniversary, it’s what day of the week you are supposed to take the trash out to curb to be collected.  The same is true for recycling.  How many times have you missed pick-up because you thought the garbage man came on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

This causes many customers to get frustrated, and many garbage companies have started to walk up to the house and carry the trash cans down themselves.  This takes a considerable amount of time, and can really cut into your profits.

One of our customers had the great idea of using text alerts to remind their customers the night before to take their bins to the curb.

It’s very simple to get started.  You already have all your customers phone numbers, so it’s as easy as importing a spreadsheet with the numbers into the system.  You can then schedule a message to go out once per week as a reminder.  Then you are done forever!  The system will go ahead and take care of the message sending every week, and you have nothing to maintain.

Go ahead and give it a try to see how exactly it works
