Marcel Fernandes Filho, a 16 year old from Brazil, set the new Guinness World Record for the fastest texting on a smartphone with a touchscreen.
Guinness requires that the record for fastest texting be set by texting a very complicated sentence: “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.” Guinness also requires that punctuation, spelling, and capitalization all be perfect on the message.
Filho set the new record on the above text message at 18.19 seconds, the previous record was held by a 15-year old at 18.34 seconds set in January.
