Since we’re always interested in learning about what makes consultants successful, we’d like to introduce you to one of our favorite Maven A-Listers, Andrea Hutcheson.
In 2008, Andrea moved to the US from Peru without knowing English. She became a college student and took 2 part-time jobs, one as a librarian assistant and one as a substitute teacher. After deciding to become a jewelry consultant and hosting her successful first party, she said, “I’m going to put my entire self into this business to make it work!”
Now Andrea has been with the jewelry company for the last 5 years. She and her husband, Danny, lead a team of 6,000+ consultants (called Team United Fashionistas) with the goal of helping them grow their businesses into full-time careers.
Andrea is a Maven A-Lister. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, this means she earns $19,000-$25,000 a month through commission alone! Profit from sales are on top of that. Andrea definitely knows something about success and is always ready to help other consultants reach their goals too.
To tap into her success, we asked Andrea two questions.
1. What personal values have caused the most growth for your business?
“Building relationships and staying consistent. I don’t sell. I share my love and passion for the product. I bring value to my friends and customers on a daily basis.”
This is evident in everything Andrea does. Her Facebook page and websites are dedicated to encouragements, tips, and training resources for consultants. She creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere and posts regularly in order to keep her team members informed and engaged.
2. What software tools have helped your business grow?
Facebook, Gmail, and Google are well-used and well-known tools for Paparazzi consultants but Andrea talks about two others worth mentioning.
Clinchshare: A social media marketing scheduling platform built for direct sellers and MLM marketers. It allows consultants to create, organize, save, and schedule posts, pins, and tweets all in one place. Andrea says it helps her schedule all her posts every two weeks!
Mobile Text Alerts: A mass text messaging system. Since emails and social media posts have such a poor open-rate and read-rate, Mobile Text Alerts allows jewelry consultants to immediately reach their team members and customers through text messages.
